Richard J. Swenson age 56 of Lee's Summit, MO passed away Friday, December 26, 2014. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 11:00am at the McGilley & Sheil Funeral Home with burial at Floral Hills East Memorial Garden, Lee’s Summit, MO. Friends may call on Monday, December 29th from 6-8pm at the funeral home.
Richard was the son of Warren and Martha Swenson. He was a bakery/deli manager for Lady Baltimore Foods and a volunteer at Kansas City Turners where he was a member for 27 years. He was the Keeper of the Sacred Bundle in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say and an active member of BSA Troop 50 and had achieved Eagle Scout status.
He is survived by his wife, Jan Swenson; 3 daughters, Tina Mizell (Charlie), Lisa Swenson & and Erin Parker (Rob); 6 grandchildren; his mother, Ilah Swenson and two brothers, Warren and Thomas. He was preceded in death by his parents as well as a sister, Ann Meinhardt.
