Rinard G. Davis, 86, of Kansas City, MO, passed away July 1, 2011, at The Village Hospice House. Born Nov. 21, 1924, in Kansas City to Thomas and Minola Davis he graduated from Westport High School and served in the 106th Inf. Div. in WWII. He succeeded his father as President of National Truck Equipment Co. in Kansas City and sold the business upon his retirement. He married Marjorie Lee Davis (Weighill) of Kansas City September 14, 1957. They raised four children and shared their lives until her passing on September 6, 1999. He married Donna K. Davis (Sutton) May 3, 2008, and was blessed with her love and support until his death. Rinard was a loyal, devoted, dependable and selfless husband and father with many friends. He was active as a Master Mason with Independence Lodge #76, a lifetime member of Tirey J. Ford American Legion Post 21, a Scoutmaster, and a DeMolay "chapter dad." A skilled and practical man, he was capable of fixing just about anything. He was never afraid to speak his mind and loved to tell stories and jokes accumulated over a full and active life. He enjoyed retirement filled with travel and live entertainment. Army reunions, Branson and Starlight Theatre were favorite destinations. He cherished his family and looked forward to every gathering and celebration. He was preceded in death by Marjorie, his parents and a sister, Zara Roberta Davis (1921-1949). He is survived by his wife Donna; children, Thomas Davis (wife Julie), Overland Park, KS; Susan Baresel (husband Donald), Kansas City, MO; Mitchell Davis, Kansas City, MO; Gregg Davis, Grain Valley, MO; stepchildren Sharon Owen and John Sutton; five grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren. Services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 5, at Eastpoint Family Church, 3923 Pittman Rd., KCMO. Visitation begins at 6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Village House (Hospice), 600 NW Pryor Rd., Lee's Summit, MO 64081, or the American Cancer Society . Funeral services will be held at the Eastpoint Family Church, 3923 Pittman Rd., at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 5, 2011. Family will receive friends from 6 to 7 that same day at the church. Cremation.
