Robert E. Bittner, 85, of Raymore, Missouri, passed away the 28th of October, 2012 at Cass Regional Medical Center from natural causes. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m., with a Rosary from 6:00-6:30 p.m., Thursday, November 1 with funeral services held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 2 at Mt. Moriah and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131. Robert was born November 16, 1926, to Ernest and Elsie Bittner, in St. Paul, Minnesota. His devotion as a husband and father was his most proud accomplishments. Robert proudly served his country for 20 years in the U.S. Air Force during World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam Era. Upon retirement from the U.S. Air Force, he worked for Allied Signal in Olathe, Kansas, for 12 years. He was an active 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus as well as a member of the Air Force Sergeant’s Association. Robert is survived by his wife, Shirley Bittner, of 63 years; daughter Judith Oxler and husband Jerry; son Gregory Bittner and wife Nena; daughter Theresa Wilson; son David Bittner and wife Betty; daughter Kathryn Hundley and husband Tim; son Brian Bittner; fourteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
