Robert Kenneth Cincetti (Bob) was born on July 24, 1936, to Hugo & Elizabeth (Dalke) Cincetti. Six years later his sister Mary Alice was born. They all lived in Chicago where Hugo worked for the CTA and Elizabeth was an executive secretary.
They lived on the Near North Side of the city with family all around. Bob attended St. Columbkille Catholic Church and school. They enjoyed fishing and swimming at Diamond Lake with extended family. Years later, Bob would take his own family to Diamond Lake too.
Bob attended St. Columbkille Catholic Church and school and later, Gorden Technical High School. He also took a few classes at Wright Junior College.
In the late 1950’s, Bob met the love of his life at a costume party. Bob was dressed as Elvis, and his future bride, Pat, was dressed as a Geisha. They hit it off immediately and started dating.
Bob went to work for the Amoco Oil Company and worked there until he retired at the age of 56. Amoco transferred Bob from the Chicago office to the Kansas City office in 1974, and then finally to the Des Moines office where he eventually retired.
Pat was his true love, but not his first love. Bob’s first love was his Turquoise and White, 1957 Chevrolet convertible. He kept it in tip top shape for cruising. Bob always had a soft spot for pretty cars.
In 1959, Bob and Pat became engaged, right before Bob was to report to Basic Training in Fort Leonard Wood, MO. Pat did go visit him there once, properly chaperoned by her Aunt Lynn Rozen.
On August 6, 1960, at Saint John Cantius, Catholic Church, Bob and Pat were married. Bob once said it was the longest day of his life. They had a wedding breakfast, and a beautiful reception. They stayed the night at The Drake before taking the car and heading south to Nassau, The Bahamas for their honeymoon. Bob really enjoyed his new motion picture camera that Pat gave him as a wedding gift and took many movies of their travels. The young couple moved in with Pat’s Father Michael Rozen on Lamon where they would stay for almost four years to save for a house.
On June 29, 1961, Bob and Pat celebrated the birth of their first daughter, Cheryl Marie Cincetti Micklavzina. On December 17, 1962, Elizabeth Marie Cincetti Gallegos was born. Then Michelle Marie Cincetti Overton was born on March 26, 1964, and finally Kimberly Marie Cincetti Bryde was born on November 4, 1965.
They all moved to Marcy Lane, in Wheeling, Il, and there they attended St. Edna’s Catholic Church. His daughters attended St. Mary’s Catholic School. Later, after moving to the Kansas City area, they attended Holy Trinity School and Church.
Bob and Pat bought a home at Lake of the Ozarks, MO and eventually retired to lake life. They enjoyed Florida and spent winters at Fort Meyer’s Beach for many years. They traveled all over the United States and Europe.
In 2015 Bob and Pat moved back to Overland Park, KS to be closer to family.
Throughout his life there were several things that never changed. Family was always the top priority in Bob’s life. He instilled the importance of family to his four daughters.
Sports was also near and dear to his heart and this lasted until the very end. Bob loved coaching his daughters in sports, attending his grandkids’ sporting events and watching sporting events on television. Watching sports sustained him when he was unable to do much else.
Bob is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia Cincetti, his daughter Cheryl and her husband Chuck Micklvzina, his daughter Elizabeth and her husband Tom Gallegos, his daughter Michelle and her husband Sean Overton and his daughter Kim and her husband Phil Bryde. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Matt Overton & wife Miranda, Zach Overton, Charlie Micklavzina, Madeline McFatrich, Emily Overton, Allison Micklavzina, Rachel Cincetti Gallegos and Dominic Cincetti Gallegos.
