

Bob was born on January 29, 1938, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Roy and Opal (Rothwell) Cox. He graduated from Central High School with the class of 1958. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army Reserves, where he served for six years.
Bob started his career as a highly skilled Tool and Die Maker at Phelps Tool & Die. He went on to build a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company in Claycomo, Missouri. He earned a reputation for his strong work ethic, dependability, and pride in his craftsmanship. Committed to excellence, he continued to grow his skills throughout his career, remaining devoted to his trade until his retirement.
Above all, Bob was a man of deep and unwavering faith. His relationship with the Lord guided his life each day. He loved his church families and served them faithfully, giving his time and energy to others. His quiet strength and servant’s heart touched so many lives.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wives, Edna and Rosemary Cox; his brothers, Leroy and James Cox; and his sister, Doris Walters.
He leaves behind a family who loved him dearly and will forever cherish his memory: his children and their spouses; Cherise George (David), Donna Martin (Rick), Tina Thompson (Dave), Stacey Forman (Daryl), and Kim Christian (Jason), Karen Zander (Denell), Craig Albright (Collett), Christopher Albright (Shari); Bob will also be missed by his sister, Barbara Clark; his brothers, Carl and Mark Cox and a large extended family including grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation and funeral services will be held on June 20, 2026, at Antioch Bible Baptist Church, 800 NE 72nd Street, Gladstone, Missouri 64118. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m., followed by funeral services at 1:00 p.m.
