

Robert Quinlan Donnelly, age 86, of Overland Park, Kansas passed away in his home on the 13th of May, 2015. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 am May 19th at Queen of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 7023 West 71st Street, Overland Park, Kansas, 66204, burial at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 pm on May 18, 2015 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64131, with the Rosary beginning at 6:00 p.m.
Robert Q. was born on July 11, 1928, in Kansas City, Missouri. He attended Redemptorist Catholic Grade School, Rockhurst High School and Rockhurst University. Following college, Robert joined the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He married the love of his life, Shirley Jean Burkhart, on August 14, 1953 and together they raised six children.
For the majority of his life he had a career in the medical sales industry which he was extremely passionate about. In 1974, he opened Park Plaza Medical which evolved into an extremely successful medical sales company throughout the Midwest. Known as “RQ” to his customers and friends, he never failed to provide a laugh, a smile or make the sale. He continued to work until his retirement in 2013.
He is preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Noreen, his sisters Mary Zahner and Nancy Kraus, his beautiful wife, Shirley and loving daughter, Lori. He is survived by his three brothers, Richard, Donald and Eugene, and his five children Susan, Ann, Robert Jr., Richard and David.
He was “Papa” to 13 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Q will be most remembered for his larger than life personality; never failing to crack a joke, provide a compliment, or leave a lasting impression on those he met. Everyone who met him has a story to tell. Gone but never forgotten, a kiss from us to you, our dearly beloved Robert Q.
