Robert Lawrence Huke II

Larry was born November 22, 1939 in Kansas City to Robert Lawrence I and Fern Huke. Larry started working at a very young age helping out at his parents’ grocery stores and meat markets in the northeast area of Kansas City and then Raytown, Missouri. He worked two jobs most of his life including 25 years of service with General Motors and various contract carriers of the Kansas City Star newspaper. He accepted an early retirement from General Motors when they closed the Leeds Plant, rather than transferring to another state and uprooting his family from the Kansas City area. After years of owning rental houses and continued employment with the contract carriers of the Kansas City Star, he retired at age 67.

He enjoyed classic cars, watching football, Nascar racing, spending time with family and his dog, Abby.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanie, and his parents Robert Lawrence I and Fern Huke.

He is survived by 7 kids, Darren (Michelle) Huke, Rob (Lisa) Huke, Travis (Lisa) Huke, Grady (Kristin) Huke, Brandan (Sheila) Huke, Scott (Bridget) Boone, Kellie (Matt) Skinner; 15 grandkids, Cody (Amy) Huke and Brielle (Kurt) McGee, Ashton Chandler and Hunter (David) Villarreal, Brenden, Preston, Anderson, Campbell Huke, Gavin and Keller Huke, Dillian and Derrick Dow, Jacob and Jaryd Boone, and Curtis Borth; 6 great-grandkids, Briar and Oaklee McGee, Willow and Wyatt Huke, and Will and Mason Villarreal, and his 2 sisters Linda Zumalt and Sandra Moore.
