

Robert Franklin Maughan of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully November 29, 2013. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 9, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 11 East 40th Street, Kansas City, followed by a reception at the church. Bob was born May 5, 1919, in Golden, Colorado. He graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Chemical Engineering and was Vice President of the Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. Following graduation Bob accepted a position with the Proctor & Gamble Company and moved to Kansas City where he met and later married his wife of 70 years, Carolee Walker Maughan, who died October 21, 2012. Bob died on their 72nd wedding anniversary. Bob served as a Lieutenant in the US Navy during World War II. Following his service, he and Carolee returned to Kansas City where Bob continued his career as a supervisor with the Proctor & Gamble Company. He later served as a plant manager at the Clorox Company and the Faultless Starch/Bon Ami Company. For many years Bob was active in the Boy Scouts of America where he served as Scout Master of Troop 76 and was a member of the tribe of Mic-O-Say. He also served as a member of the Vestry and sang in the choir at St. Paul's Episcopal Church. Bob was an avid fly fisherman, hunter, bowler, and gardener and he loved all sports. Bob was very proud of his family, took great joy in their accomplishments, and was a friend to many. He is survived by his three sons, Kent, Craig (Jody), Gary (Sue) and seven grandchildren and six great grand children.
