Rob was born on September 26, 1971, to Robert and Kathleen Murphy in Kansas City, Missouri. Rob was preceded in death by his sister, Pam, and is survived by his mother and father, Robert and Kathleen Murphy, Lee’s Summit, Missouri his older brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Julie Murphy of Smithville, Missouri, his three children, Keegan, Kyler and Kaylene Murphy of Overland Park, KS, as well as multiple nieces, nephews and extended family, all of whom were dear to his heart.
Rob had an infectious personality, and aimed to please all of those around him. He was dedicated to his professional career, and had the opportunity to travel the world and connect with many colleagues who will miss his dedication dearly. Rob was more concerned with the well being of others, than he was for himself. He never met a stranger, and never wanted anyone to be alone or go unrecognized. His passion and pride for his children could be seen and heard when talking about them and their accomplishments. Rob’s journey may have been shorter than those who love him wanted it to be, but the impact he had on their lives will last forever.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, from 12:30pm to 2:00pm at St. Peter’s & All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 East Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64114, with funeral services immediately following the visitation. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers Rob’s wishes were for donations to the American Heart Association, or a charity of your choice.
