Robert was born on March 9th, 1942 in Kansas City, MO to Arthur and Dolores Esterman Murray.
After graduating High School, Robert went on to serve in the United Sates Marine Corps.
After serving our country, Robert returned home to Kansas City. Robert was a Claycomo Police Officer for many years and also worked for Advanced Auto Parts, from where he retired. He was known not just as a parts guy, but a person who loved to help everyone.
Robert was an active member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church and a Eucharistic minister.
Robert was a supporter of veterans and belonged to numerous charities.
In his spare time, Robert was a gun collector, loved the great outdoors, and tinkering around on cars. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandbabies. Everyone knew, if you were hungry, just stop by for biscuits and gravy in the early morning.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Dolores Murray. His sister, Lorraine J. Murray, and a brother, Raymond Murray.
Robert is survived by his children, Margo Ann Middleton of Mountain Home, AR, Nancy S. (Jason) Casey-Matthews, Robert J. (Tonya) Murray Jr, Stephanie A. (Larry) Jackson, and Amy D. (Jonathon) Ellis; loving sisters, Donna Podgornick of Glenaire MO, and Dolores Gearheart of Shawnee Mission, KS; 15 Grandchildren; 6 Great-Grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
