Chuck was born May 17, 1952, in Maryville, Missouri to Bob and Doris Pittsenbarger. A graduate of North Kansas City High School, Chuck later married and had two children. He made his living in the grocery business, starting as a sacker, cashier, and stocker at Safeway, moving up and managing stores, traveling, and representing various accounts, eventually retiring from Cosentinos Price Chopper in 2023.
Chuck was quick with a joke and loved making others laugh. A friend to all, those near him knew his warm smile well. He was kind, outgoing, and enjoyed sharing stories. Everywhere he went, he ran into someone he knew. His impact and impression on others reached far and wide.
Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, his second wife, Brenda, and brother, Wendell Pittsenbarger. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Woods and her husband Chris; son, Michael Pittsenbarger and his wife Angela; sister Susan Sharp and her husband Richard; grandchildren Melissa, Alex, Michael, and Cole, many nieces and nephews, and more friends than he could count.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, February 13 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, Missouri, 64119.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions in Chuck’s name to The American Cancer Society at donate.cancer.org or to Kansas City Hospice and Palliative Care (NKC Hospice House) at kchospice.org/donate.
