Robert was born on October 12, 1933 to Robert and Dorothy Poole in Kansas City, KS. He graduated from Argentine High School in 1951 and entered the US Army, serving as a Field Wireman. After serving his country overseas in the Korean War, Robert returned to the Kansas City area where he met the love of his life, Clara. They were married May 11, 1957. Together they had four children, Glen, Mark, Karen, and Tim. He spent 30 years as an engineer in the telecommunications industry for Southwestern Bell and AT&T.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Vernon Poole, and two grandchildren, Alexis and Sloan Poole.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Clara; Children, Glen (Deonna) Poole, Mark (Jennifer) Poole, Karen Cummickel, Tim Poole; grandchildren, Chris (Amanda) Poole, Katie (Russell) Booher, Matthew Poole, Kayla Cummickel, Crystal Poole, Kenda Cummickel; great grandson, Matt Poole; three brothers, Donald, David (Margaret), and Jon (JoAnna).
Visitation will be at Floral Hills funeral home at 1:00 followed by Graveside services at 2:00 on Thursday, June 20 at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
