Jason Schowengerdt, 32, passed November 21, 2018 at his home. A rosary will be prayed at 5:30 PM, with visitation continuing until 8:00 PM Friday, November 30th at the McGilley Antioch Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Saturday, December 1st at St. Gabriel Catholic Church; cremation following services. Jason was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Kansas City Royals sports teams. His family invites those attending services to wear their favorite Kansas City sports team attire. Contributions are suggested to the Scholarship Fund of St. Gabriel Catholic School.
Jason was born September 23, 1986 to Robert L. and Brenda S. (Malone) Schowengerdt in Kansas City, MO. He was an Eagle Scout, Troop 357 and a Fire Builder in the tribe of Mic-O-Say. Jason was a 2005 graduate of St. Pius X High School. He attended University of Central Missouri. Jason was a member of U.A.W. Local 710 and employed by JCI Riverside/Adient. He loved the outdoors and spending time with friends and family. He could talk for hours and make a stranger into a friend with ease. Jason was a lover of history, reading, and all things regarding music. He could spend hours playing the guitar and listening to his records. Jason loved hearing his favorite bands live, especially "311". He was loved by many and will be greatly missed, but in the words of one of his favorite artists he would tell us, "don't worry about a thing, cause every little thing gonna be all right."
Jason is survived by his parents, Robert and Brenda Schowengerdt; a sister, Jessica Schowengerdt; grandparents, Robert and Jennifer Schowengerdt, and John Malone; aunts and uncles, Kelly and Ace Chambers, Randy and Tricia Malone, Janis Ratliff, Trish Malone and Elizabeth Malone; and numerous cousins. Jason was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jessie Earlene Malone; an uncle, Mark Malone; and a cousin, Meredith Malone.
