

On Thanksgiving Day, 1935, Rocky Jack Calahan was born to AnnaDay McKenna and Jack Calahan. He grew up in the home of his grandparents and attended Maccochaque Grade School and Rosedale High School. As a young man, Rocky was an Eagle Scout with honors.
He is survived by his wife, Dona; sister, Gloria Stephenson; son, Rocky L. Calahan; grandchildren, Brandi Sachse, Derek Smith (Antonia) and Dillan Parrish; and four great grandchildren.
Rocky was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia; and children, Diane and Richard.
With his business partner, Cole Phillips, he successfully built C & P Construction from the ground up. He was not afraid to try other business ventures as well.
In 2009, Rocky married his childhood sweetheart, Dona. Together they enjoyed travelling and living at Town Village of Leawood. Rocky enjoyed the stock market and market research, spending time with family and friends and wine. Being an avid Chiefs and Jayhawks fan brought him much joy and sometimes frustration. Rocky enjoyed the occasional casino visit, golf and bowling in his spare time.

Visitation will be held Friday, December 23, 2022, at 9:30 am at Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, KCMO. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 am.
