He was an Army veteran. Rod was employed as a Department Head at Western Electric, later at AT&T, for forty years, retiring in 1996. Rod was a lifetime member of the German Shepherd Dog Club of KC, the German Shepherd Dog Club of America and past Board member of Animal Haven.
Rod is survived by his wife of 52 years, Frances Hamann, and a brother Dennis Hamann and wife Vicky of Harrisburg, NC.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, October 11th at McGilley State Line Chapel from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to Animal Haven.
