Roger proudly served his country in the United States Navy. An experience that shaped his sense of discipline, duty, and quiet strength for the rest of his life. He carried that steadiness into everything he did and throughout his career in aviation with TWA and later AA. To those who knew him remember a man who showed up, who kept his word, and who took care of the people around him. But Roger was far from all seriousness — he had a great sense of humor and a well-earned reputation for pranks, always ready with a laugh and a bit of mischief to keep the people around him on their toes.
Roger is survived by his daughter, J. Renee Cline; and Deborah Eads, his devoted partner of 25 years, whose companionship brought him joy and steadiness through the years. He was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters.
Roger will be remembered for the life he built and the people he loved. His warmth, his service, and his steady presence leave a lasting mark on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
Visitation will be held at McGilley Antioch Chapel, 3325 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City, MO, on Wednesday, September 16, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. A Celebration of Life will immediately follow at 6:30 p.m.
