Roger G. Lefebvre was called home by our Father in Heaven Sunday, August 12, 2012. One of four children, Roger was born February 6, 1937 to Frank and Cecile (Philippon) Lefebvre in Waterbury, VT; but he grew up on a dairy farm in Enosburg Falls, VT before serving in the United States Air Force as a Supply Specialist. He met his bride of 52 years, Joyce (Welsh) Lefebvre, while stationed in Lewistown, Montana. Four children soon followed and Roger started his lifelong career with the Ford Motor Company until his retirement in 1992. A long time resident of Kansas City, MO, Roger loved the outdoors, working in the woods and spending time with his family. One of the many outdoor activities Roger loved was tapping maple trees for the sap and spending countless hours boiling to create Pure Maple Syrup. As long as the sap ran, Roger provided an endless supply for anyone that wanted this delectable treat. He was actively involved with San Rafael Catholic Church and most recently a member of the St. Gabriel Parish.
Roger was a kind, loving, and strong husband, father, and grandfather. He was always supportive and encouraging. He is most remembered for his patience and understanding and fun-loving ways. He is survived by his wife, Joyce; son Peter (Wanda) Lefebvre of Gallup, NM; daughter Jackie (Glenn) Whiston of Kansas City, MO; son David Lefebvre of Excelsior Springs, MO and his fiancee, Laurie Carrel; daughter Rita (Shannon) Gordon of Kansas City, MO; 17 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a sister Frances (Sam) Ruggles of Morrisville, VT; brother Richard (Pauline) Lefebvre of Hoosick Falls, NY; brother Don (Karen) Lefebvre of Swanton, VT; many cousins; and numerous nieces and nephews. Roger was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Cecile Lefebvre.
Visitation services will be held Friday, August 17, 2012 at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church, 4737 N. Cleveland, in Kansas City, MO at 10:00am. Immediately following, a funeral mass will be offered at 11:00am. A luncheon will be provided following services at the North Cross United Methodist Church, 1321 NE Vivion Rd, Kansas City, MO.
