Roianne Stafford fell asleep in death on Monday, December 11th, 2023, at the KC Hospice House after a 5 year long fight with Lung and Bone cancer.
Roianne attended public school in Red Oak, Iowa. She graduated from the Red Oak Community High School in 1986. After graduating from DeVry University in 1989, she worked at Payless Cashways as a programmer for 11 years. She went back to school for Accounting and worked for 12 years at State Street Bank and Trust.
Roianne dedicated her life to serving Jehovah and became one of Jehovah’s Witnesses in July of 1989.
Roianne met Darren Stafford as they worked at Kmart part time through college. They fell in love and were labeled the “Blue Light Special” couple. On March 24th 1990, they were married.
Roianne was a person that could smile and you just knew that you had met a friend who would help you. She was kind to everyone, especially children. She jokingly would say, ‘since I can’t have kids then I’m going to spoil every child the Brothers and Sisters send home with me’.
She had a passion for protecting Jehovah’s creatures. She never wanted to see an animal suffer if something could be done about it. After Darren and Roianne moved into a house he knew that there was no way to stop Roianne from filling the house with pets. However, she relented to having 2 cats at a time. The cats were 2 males (Scooter’The King’ and Casey) which have passed and 2 females (Cassady and Rose). Rose is currently the single survivor.
Roianne fell asleep in death at 55 years of age. Roianne was preceded in death by her parents and childhood best friend cousin Michelle Gomer.
She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Darren and two brothers; Joe Edmondson and Richard Edmondson; two Aunts, Carolyn Gomer and Colleen Martin; two Uncles, Dennis Gomer and Ronald Martin.
