Roland Eugene Anderson

Roland Eugene Anderson, 79, Grandview, MO, passed away April 25th, 2012. He was born September 22, 1932 in Kansas City, MO, son of George Anderson and Anna M. Dell. Roland attended school in Kansas City, worked at Sears before spending four years in the U.S. Navy. While he was stationed in Alameda, CA, he met and married Renee Robbins on October 14, 1953. After his tour of duty with the Navy they moved to Provo, UT where Roland worked for Geneva Steel and attended Brigham Young University. They moved to Michigan after graduation and he worked for the City of Mt. Clemens for 1 ½ years, moving to Muskegon Heights, MI working in city government for 15 years, and then moving to Grandview, MO. He is survived by his wife of 58 years Renee Anderson, four children Carolyn Nelson (Val), Clint Anderson (Traci), Vennetta Hickson and Vint Anderson (Denae), 13 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, three brothers John Jura (Jean), Ray Jura (Frankie) and Jim Jura (Arlene), and one sister Judy Bateman (Charles). Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 28th, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 13025 Wornall Rd. Burial in Mt. Moriah Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Missionary Program for Grandson Elder Grant W.
