

Courtney Drumm, 80, of Overland Park, Kansas, died on Monday, October 8, 2012 at Kansas City Hospice House after a long battle with COPD. Services will be held on Friday, October 12, at 1:00 p.m., at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes. Visitation at noon will include a light lunch. Courtney was born November 28, 1931, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Annabel (Foose) and Harry C. Drumm. He leaves his wife, Jean (Baker) Drumm, of 58 years; son David and fiancee Sumita of Orlando, Florida; and daughter Carolyn Baruch and husband Jeff of Overland Park, Kansas. He also leaves grandchildren Sara and Tyler Drumm of Orlando and Bryan Baruch of Overland Park. Courtney graduated from Baker University in 1953. After a successful career in sales, he realized his dream of having his own business by owning and operating a furniture refinishing company in North Kansas City. He was an enthusiastic supporter of the Boy Scouts of America, becoming an Eagle Scout and a Warrior in the Tribe of Mic-O-Say as a youth, and later serving as Scoutmaster of Troop 284. He had many hobbies, including sailing, camping and building model boats.
