

He was born January15, 1937 in Red Wing, Minnesota to Lawrence and Anna Nash. He attended schools in Wisconsin and Minnesota, graduating from Red Wing High School. After high school, he attended Dunwoody Industrial Institute in Minneapolis and became a Field Engineer for IBM where he worked for 36 years until his retirement in 1993. From 1960 to 1962 he was in the Army stationed in Fort Lee, Virginia. He married Mary Carolyn George on January 31, 1959 and later had two children. He was an active member of the Red Bridge United Methodist Church.
Ron coached many of his son’s little league sports teams, was a runner for many years, loved to play golf, active in his church and most recently enjoyed watching his grandchildren swim, dance, cheer, play football, basketball, baseball, play violin and piano. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Surviving are his wife of 55 years, Carolyn of the home, a daughter Dawn (Nash) Cassity and husband Patrick of Lee’s Summit, his son Paul Nash and wife Jennifer of Overland Park, and four grandchildren, Christopher, Katherine, Claire and Chase. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Clifford and sister Jo Ann.
Visitation will be held from 10:00-11:00 a.m. followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 8, at Red Bridge United Methodist Church, 636 E. 117th Street, Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ron’s name to Red Bridge United Methodist Church.
