

Ronald Edward Shoaf of Independence, MO passed away in his home on April 6, 2022 at the age of 73. Ron was born in Kansas City, MO on October 22, 1948, to John Edward and Geraldine Douglas Shoaf. A life-long resident of the area, he attended William Chrisman High School in Independence his freshman and sophomore years and transferred to Truman High School when it opened for his junior and senior years; Ron was a member of the very first Truman High School wrestling team.
Ron retired from Hallmark after many years working in the computer room, and later, working with foil stamping. He enjoyed playing golf and was a member of the Blue Springs Country Club. Ron was an avid bowler, participating in local leagues as well as coaching. He enjoyed playing paintball with friends and family and loved taking his granddog, Baby, out for strolls around the neighborhood. Ron was also a member of the Order of the Scottish Rite.
Ron is survived by his sons Adam Edward Shoaf and John Robert Shoaf, and his daughter Kristin Juul Necaise, his siblings Debi Schulenberg and Doug Shoaf, and his grandchild Tara. Ron also had three great grandchildren Hayden, Kenzleigh, and Aubreigh. Ron was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, David Shoaf.
A private celebration of life will be held to honor Ron’s life. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to a charity of your choosing.
