Ron was born on 7-30-48 in St. Joseph, Missouri, to parents Frank Stockbauer and Ann Snyder Stockbauer, both of whom predeceased him. After his mother's death, when he was a toddler, Frank married Louise Stockbauer who raised and loved Ron and was loved dearly in return. Louise died in 2015.
Ron served in the United States Navy from 1969 to 1971, including a tour in Viet Nam. After the war, he worked his way through college, earning a degree in history from the University of Missouri. He retired ten years ago from the United States Post Office after 28 years of service.
In addition to his wife, Charlotte (Susie) Rich Stockbauer, he leaves a brother Nick Polallis (Terrie) and a sister Kathy Wirken (David), sister-in-law Debbie Walker, stepsons Scott Brenton (Christine), Andy Ansell, and Jimmy Ansell, and a step-daughter, Lisa Gaspard (Trey). He also leaves aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many step-grandchildren who loved their Grandpa Ron.
Honorary pallbearers are his three step-sons, his brother-in-law David Wirken, and his close friends James Hall and Dave Godden.
Visitation will be Saturday, May 5, at 2:00 pm, at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO, followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Cremation. Officiating will be his nephew, Rev. Brian Dailey of Pullman, Washington.
