Ronald Eugene Triplett was born on May 23, 1952 in Peoria, Illinois to Joe Sanders and Lucille Triplett. He later graduated from Galesburg High School in 1970. Following graduation, Ronald proudly served his country in the United States Navy, an experience that afforded him the opportunity to travel and see much of the world. After his military service, he worked for John Deere and the Rath Packing Company in Waterloo, lowa.
In 1986, Ronald relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where he began building the foundation for a life centered on faith, family, and service. He worked for Charlie Cleaning Services, served as a security officer at Seven Oaks, and pursued entrepreneurship through his lawn care business. On July 28, 1988, Ronald and Marva united in holy matrimony, beginning a loving partnership that would endure for nearly 38 years.
Ronald dedicated 35 years of faithful service to the Internal Revenue Service before retiring in 2017. Retirement did not slow his commitment to the community. He found joy in serving as a crossing guard for the Kansas City Public School District, ensuring the safety of children throughout the city each morning until illness limited his ability to serve in 2025.
A devoted believer in Jesus Christ, Ronald lived a life grounded in faith. He was ordained as a Deacon under the late Bishop W. H. White, Sr. at Emmanuel Baptist Church, where he faithfully served the congregation. In 2019, he became a member of Friendship Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James A. Terrance, Jr., where he warmly welcomed others as a dedicated greeter.
Ronald was known for his warm spirit, infectious smile, and sense of humor. He never missed an opportunity to crack a joke, bring laughter to a room, or brighten someone's day with a witty remark. He had a deep love for sports and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams. He enjoyed listening to music, watching professional wrestling, and spending time with family and friends. One of his greatest joys was dancing with his beloved wife, Marva. Whether at family gatherings, celebrations, or simply enjoying a favorite song together, their love for one another was evident in every step they shared.
Above all, Ronald was a loving husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, faithful friend, and servant of God. He took great pride in his family and cherished every opportunity to support, encourage, and celebrate those he loved.
Ronald leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Marva Triplett, with whom he shared 43 years of love and companionship; his children, Ronald Eugene Triplett, Jr. (Aminta) of Waterloo, lowa, Joy Triplett of Texas, Marques Wooten (LaKesha) of Kansas City, Missouri, and Nikki Triplett of Tennessee; his sister, Angela Islam; his brothers, Bruce LaVoilette and Joe Chukes of Kansas City, Missouri; his nine beloved grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and countless friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, strengthened by his faith, and enriched by his unwavering love and joyful spirit.
