

Rosalie Alice Likely Armour, 96, of Eastern Jackson County, died on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Monterey Park Nursing Center, after a brief illness. Mrs. Armour was born February 22, 1920, in Bronson, Kansas, the daughter of Archie E. and Mosella Rose Likely, the middle child of fifteen children. The deceased was a former school teacher, bookkeeper for Kuhlman Diecasting Company and office manager for Theodore Lawrence Painting Company. After her retirement, she was an active volunteer for the Salvation Army. She was a member of the Bronson Baptist Church and, later, of the Linwood Presbyterian Church in Kansas City. Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Gessley, Grain Valley, Missouri, and Teresa Ford (Terry) Blue Springs, Missouri; six grandchildren: Drew Jameson (Kellee) Prairie Village, KS, Gregory Curnett, Springfield, MO, Ryan Ford (Julie) Lee’s Summit, MO, Marlo Wahbeh (David) Atlanta, GA, Joshua Linn, Kansas City, MO, and Jennifer Rooney (Joe) Lee’s Summit, MO; ten great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; one sister: Madge Ingroum, Puyallup, WA, and one brother: Robert Likely, Independence, MO. She was preceded in death by an infant son, Michael Robert, and twelve of her fourteen siblings; Deloris Irene Marie (Bailey), Dorothy Mary (Hinton), Doris Elizabeth (Schubert), Thomas Jefferson, Ona Wilma (Knight), Archie Leo, William Leland, Georgia Nola (Franzese), George Noel, Sara Ellen (Johnson), Harry Benjamin, and Barbara Jean (Bland). Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 19, 2016, with visitation beginning at 9am, followed by the funeral at 10am. Our mother was a wonderful courageous woman. She was quiet, brilliant and talented and we thank our Lord for the privilege of being her daughters.
