

Rose E. Quijas, 86, of Belton MO went to be with her Lord and Savior on Mon, Oct. 27, 2014 surrounded by her family. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and aunt. She was born on January 6, 1928 to Victor and Mabel Hernandez in Kansas City, KS. She attended Argentine High School. Rose met Jesse Quijas while living in the same neighborhood and became married on May 5, 1951. Rose devoted her life to her husband, sons, grandchildren, and to all her students being a kindergarten teacher. Rose gave of herself tirelessly in supporting her sons in Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Band, CYO and military service. She is known for her wonderful homemade taco feasts and her plentiful assortment of Christmas cookies. She was always there for anyone who needed her. She leaves behind her husband, Jesse Quijas; two sisters, Dorothy V. Acree and Delores M. (Thomas) Feo; two brothers, Harry F. and Richard L. (Karen) Herenandez; her three sons, Carl (Peggy) Quijas, Robert (Sandie) Quijas and Michael (Vicki) Quijas; four grandchildren, Jared (Lindsey) Quijas, Mathew (Heather) Quijas, Nicholas (Kayla) Quijas and Laura (Zach) Zirhut; two great-grandchildren, Julia and Alexandria Quijas as well as several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to the Kansas City Hospice House for their support and care. Visitation will be held at noon on Friday, Oct. 31 at McGilley Midtown Chapel, 20 W.
