

Rose was born on October 17, 1944, in Kansas City, Missouri, to Charles D. Luppens, Sr. and Dorothy A. Marshall Luppens. She was a lifelong learner whose compassion and dedication to helping others shaped both her education and her career. She graduated from East High School in 1962 before earning her undergraduate degree from Avila College in 1989. She later received her Master of Social Work from the University of Missouri in 1991.
Rose devoted her professional life to serving others as a geriatric social worker for the State of Missouri. Throughout her career, she was a compassionate advocate for older adults and their families, offering guidance, comfort, and support to countless individuals. She retired after many years of faithful public service.
Above all, Rose treasured her family. She is survived by her three sons, Craig W. Wheeler, Chad W. Wheeler, and Corey W. Wheeler; her four beloved grandchildren, Mathais A. Rhodes, Cambridge W. Wheeler, Trinity Wheeler, and Caden W. Wheeler; and several cherished nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles D. Luppens, Sr. and Dorothy A. Marshall Luppens; her sister, Charlynn D. Smith; and her brothers, Charles D. Luppens, Jr. and Frank F. Luppens.
Rose will be remembered for her strength and unwavering commitment to serving others. Her love for her family, her compassion for those in need, and the many lives she touched throughout her career will remain her lasting legacy.
Funeral services and a celebration of Rose's life will be held on Monday, July 13, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 1416 SW 19th Street, Blue Springs, Missouri 64015.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to a charity supporting animals or veterans, causes that were close to Rose's heart.
