A woman of distinct elegance, sharp intellect, and global perspective, Tollie left an indelible mark on everyone she met—from the civic and social circles of Kansas City to the many places her travels took her.
Born in Tacoma, Washington, Tollie was the daughter of the late U.S. Congressman Thor C. Tollefson and Eva Keuss. Raised in a vibrant political household, she developed an early grace, poise, and sense of public service that defined her entire life. She went on to pursue her higher education at Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri.
On August 13, 1949, she wed the love of her life, Ardeis H. “Buck” Myers Jr., at Central Lutheran Church in Tacoma. Their beautiful marriage spanned more than 66 remarkable years, until Buck’s passing in 2016.
Following their marriage, Tollie relocated to Kansas City, Missouri, where she became a foundational pillar of the community. Throughout their life together, she was a constant source of strength and dedication, supporting her husband in his global endeavors, extensive professional pursuits, and international agricultural interests. For more than four decades, Tollie helped manage the rhythms and demands of international travel and community life alongside him during his leadership of Good Sight Company Limited in Australia.
Tollie was a woman of profound generosity who used her resources to quietly impact the world.
Deeply committed to the cultural and social fabric of Kansas City, she was a dedicated patron of the Kansas City Symphony, Kansas City Ballet, and a proud longtime member of the historic Saddle and Sirloin Club.
She cherished time spent with family and close friends and created lasting connections wherever she went.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ardeis “Buck” Myers Jr., and her parents. She is survived by her sister, Janie Stewart; her devoted nieces and nephews: Ardeis Scott, Scarlett Scott, Lowell Williams, Killian Higgins McCabe, Jonathan Stewart, and Jared Stewart; her cousin, Joe Myers; and a lifetime of cherished friends.
Rosemary’s life was marked by elegance, intelligence, generosity, and a quiet but far-reaching impact, and she leaves behind a lasting impression on all who knew her.
