

Rosemary Olberding, 81, of Kansas City MO. Passed away December 20, 2012. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 28th at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, 11822 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, December 27th at McGilley State Line Chapel, a time for sharing will start at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Scleroderma Foundation, 300 Rosewood Dr., Suite 105, Danvers, MA 01923 or Kansas City Hospice House, 12000 Wornall Road, Kansas City, MO 64145.
Rosemary was born, January 29, 1931 in Sebetha, KS to George and Rose (Becker) Gress. She resided in Seneca, KS for her entire youth until graduating from St. Peter & Paul at which time she moved to Kansas City and worked for Sutherland Lumber. On May 26, 1951 she married Leonard Olberding and they lived their married life in various locations in the Kansas City area. Rosie was a homemaker and devoted mother of seven children. She later took a job at the JC Penney Co where she worked for 18 years in data processing.
She was preceded in death by her parents George & Rose (Becker) Gress, sister Mildred McCaffrey and granddaughter Olivia Olberding. Surviving siblings are: Omer & Melvin Gress both of Yakima, WA, and George Gress of Kansas City, MO. Surviving children are: William Olberding of Overland Park, KS, David Olberding of San Diego, CA, Daniel Olberding of Madison, AL, Ricky Olberding of Brandon, FL, Cynthia Hormel of Alexandria, VA, Ronald Olberding of Kansas City, MO, and Joyce Curci of Lorton, VA. She leaves behind 20 grandchildren, one great granddaughter and loving in-laws.
