Rosemary Overbey

She met the love of her life, John C “Jack” Overbey in 1947 in Louisburg and they were married in December 1949. Jack preceded Rosemary in death in 2005. Rosemary worked in the insurance business for decades, retiring from Lockton Insurance Company in 2011. She and Jack were lifelong Chiefs fans, holding season tickets since the 1970s. They were a very social couple and enjoyed hosting holiday parties together for friends and family.

Rosemary is survived by her three children: Carolyn (Earl) Watson, Kathryn Gordon and John C. (Dawn) Overbey, Jr, as well as five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Rosemary was a wonderful, caring, funny person who lived her life with eternal optimism and faith that things would work out as they were meant to. She will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.

A visitation for Rosemary will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at St Peter & All Saints Episcopal Church, 100 East Red Bridge Road, Kansas City, MO 64114. A funeral service will occur follow at 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at 12:00 PM in Mount Moriah Cemetery South, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131.
