Rosemary was born on December 10, 1928, in Flippin, located in the Ozarks of northern Arkansas. She was the youngest of three girls born to Grover and Velma (Rea) Burch.
Rosemary grew up in Flippin and graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1947. Having been a teacher’s aide during her senior year, she took a teaching job requiring her to live with a rural family along the Buffalo River to teach their two children. School consolidation and Robert Quearry, returning to Flippin after his tour of duty in the Navy in WWII, upended her plans to continue a teaching career.
Rosemary and Bob were married on September 10, 1949, and moved to Columbia, Missouri, where Bob was a senior at the University of Missouri. Upon graduation, they moved to Saugatuck, Michigan where Michael was born in 1951. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1953 and to the suburban community of Raytown in 1960 where daughter Melissa was born in 1963. Aside from raising her two children, being a devoted wife and keeping the home fires burning, Rosemary was very active in church life at Blue Ridge Methodist church. She and Bob were long time active members of the Builders Class. In more recent years the Builders Class honored Rosemary with the class’s highest recognition of a member, “Wisdom Keeper”.
Rosemary enjoyed cooking meals for family and friends, whether in Raytown or at their second home on Lake of the Ozarks. Above all, Rosemary deeply loved her family.
Her memory will reside in the hearts of many people. Survivors include Melissa Quearry, Michael Quearry and wife Eva Quearry and a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
