Rosemary Weber

Rosemary Grindinger Weber of Shawnee, Kansas died on Friday, February, 28, 2020. She was seventh born into a family of eight on May 19, 1929 to Aloys and Pauline Grindinger. Rosemary attended Redemptorist Grade and High School. She worked in her father's grocery store during WWII when male help was called into the service, after which she did office clerical work. In 1957 she married Theodore Weber, who preceded her in death in 1975. Before Ted's death, Rosemary was a stay at home mom, volunteering in PTA, Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts. Three years before Ted's death, Rosemary decided to fulfill a dream and enrolled in a Community College, where she received an Associate's Degree in Nursing two months before Ted's death. She completed her nursing degree while working at Baptist Medical Center and caring for her seven children. In 1979, she was name Employee of the Year. After retirement in 1988, Rosemary filled her days volunteering as a KC Zoo docent, taking small animals and programs to schools in the surrounding area, Library Aide, Eucharistic Minister for her church, community affairs advocate, traveling and reading. Rosemary was a lifelong resident of the Kansas City, Missouri and Shawnee, Kansas area. She loved her church, family and a multitude of extended family and friends.

She is survived by her children, Larry (Ruth), Annette Bright (Dean), Michelle Bird, Rob (Erin), Tony (Beth), Sharon Weber, Dennis (Julie), twenty grandchildren, Robert, Jennifer, Abby, Teddy, Seth, Micah, Danielle, Kristen, Lauren, Jonathan, Paul (Shawna), Curtis (Courtney), Kaitlin, Tyler, Lindsay, Katie, Michael, Kristen, Caty (Ryan), Luke and six great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Brynlee, McKenzie, Connor, Corbin and Rhett.

Visitation will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Monticello and Johnson Drive from 9-11 am Thursday, March 5, 2020 followed by Mass of the Resurrection at 11 am. Luncheon at the church following the interment at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. It is suggested that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be donated to Sacred Heart of Jesus Church or the Bishop Sullivan Center.
