

Ruth Mary Caronia, 92, of Independence, MO passed away August 4, 2021. She was born on December 18, 1928 to Robert E. Felz and Adeline Augusta (Vick) Felz. She is a graduate of East High School in Kansas City, MO.
Ruth and Peter married in December, 1945 and had two children, Vicky and Peter Caronia Jr. Ruth and Peter shared more than 63 years together. In the early 1980’s Ruth and her husband, Peter built a house at the Lake of the Ozarks, in which they retired to in 1991, but returned back to Independence in 1997.
Ruth was a devoted teacher for 31 years in the Catholic school system, teaching at Holy Cross and St. Ann’s Catholic schools among several others. She was a seamstress and for several years, Ruth made the school uniforms for Holy Cross Catholic School and she also made the most beautiful wedding dresses.
Ruth was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers; Robert, John and Joel. Survivors include a sister, Neva Mining; daughter, Vicky Heineman (husband Jerry) and a son, Peter Caronia, Jr. (wife Judy); 2 granddaughters, Jodi Arnold (husband Todd) and Nikki Senn (husband Kurt) and 1 great grandson, Matt Arnold.
