Ruth Elaine Moot, 92, of Prairie Village, Kansas, peacefully passed away January 8, 2012 at Trinity Nursing Home. Memorial services will be 3:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11 at Leawood Presbyterian Church, 2715 W. 83rd Street, Leawood, Kansas 66206. Ruth was born July 12, 1919 in Moberly, Missouri, to Charles and Utopia (Miles) Kelly. She graduated from Moberly Junior College in 1939 and moved to Kansas City. During World War II she worked at Pratt & Whitney. She was married to Jack P. Moot on January 1, 1944 in Olathe. They owned BiRite Market at 33rd and Indiana for several years. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Howard and Charles, and her husband Jack. Survivors include her son Ray (Carol) of Fairview Heights, Illinois; daughter Marilyn McMurtry of Olathe; six grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; a dear niece Nancy Jessmore and many dear cousins.
