Ruth Ava Ross, 93, of Blue Springs, Missouri passed away July 1, 2016 in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Visitation will be held from 12:00-1:00 p.m. followed by funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 9, at Blue Springs Church of Christ, 1000 SW Clark Road, Blue Springs, Missouri. Burial in Mount Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri.
Ruth was born October 5, 1922 in Marshall, Arkansas, daughter of William M. and Ethel H. (Horton) Lynch. She had three half-brothers, one half-sister, two brothers and one sister. Ruth met and married Woodrow W. Ross on October 3, 1942 during World War II. They traveled throughout the U.S. before settling in the Kansas City area about 1950. She held several factory jobs until attending cosmetology school in 1960. Ruth has been a lifelong member of the Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband Woodrow, one son-in-law and one great-grandson. Ruth is survived by her brother Sam Lynch of Springfield, Missouri; her three children Teresa Ulmer and her husband Bill, Kansas City, Missouri, Gary Ross and his wife Linda of Kansas City, Kansas and Mindy Williams and her husband, Steve of Blue Springs, Missouri, twelve grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
