Sally is survived by her daughters, Carol Cheek (Bruce), of Lake Saint Louis, MO; Martha Burt, Roeland Park, KS; and Jennie Burt of Prairie Village, KS. Sally is preceded in death by her husband, John and daughter, Sarah Burt.
Sally was born in Omaha, NE (1929) to Carroll and Alta Krause. Sally grew up in Albion, NE and continued to have strong ties to the area her entire life. Sally attended Lindenwood College and the University of Nebraska focusing her studies on education.
John and Sally were married in 1957. John's job at the Office of the Comptroller Currency took them to Lincoln, NE; Omaha, NE and in 1964 they moved to Kansas City, MO where they lived for the remainder of their lives. Sally enjoyed gardening, was a fabulous cook and always welcomed people to her table. Sally loved to travel, and both she and John took the family on many memorable car trips throughout the United States. Sally loved being a homemaker and Mother. She dedicated her life to raising her four daughters and took pride in their accomplishments.
Sally enjoyed watching movies, reading cookbooks and magazines. She was an avid football fan. In more recent years, she enjoyed going for car rides, sitting outdoors and eating ice cream.
A visitation is planned for Friday, March 3, 2023, 4:00pm-7:00pm at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO 64145. Private burial at a later date in Albion, NE.
