Sally Ann Reid (Stark) passed away peacefully on August 19th, 2026. She was an incredibly hard worker, deeply loyal, fiercely funny, and a dedicated employee, friend, mother, and grandmother. Sally was a truly special person to all who knew her, and she will be missed deeply and eternally.
Sally was born on September 2nd, 1944, in Gainesville, TX, to Thomas Hardin Stark and Arlie Frances Stark. She graduated in 1962 from Arkansas City High School and completed two years of nursing school at Ponca City Hospital Nursing School, Ponca City, OK. Throughout her life, she lived in a variety of places, including Arkansas City, KS, Kent Washington, and Gladstone Missouri, before settling in Grandview, Missouri, in 1977, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Sally’s true passions were her work and her family. She had an expansive career, spending 29 years with PepsiCo, where she mentored colleagues and shared her vast knowledge to help others succeed. A natural storyteller, Sally brought joy to her workplace and took immense pride in everything she did. Despite her busy career, she was an incredibly present mother and grandmother. She made it a point to attend every single event for her son, Devin, and her grandchildren, Hannah and Seth. From multi-sport schedules to school plays, she was always in the stands because showing up for her family mattered most.
Sally was preceded in death by her parents, Thomas Hardin Stark and Arlie Frances Stark, and her brothers, Donald McCoy and Thomas Stark.
Her memory will be cherished forever by her loving family and friends. She is survived by her son, Devin Reid; her grandson, Seth Reid; her granddaughter and her husband, Hannah Reid and Isaiah Williams; and her brother and his wife, Patrick and Colleen Stark.
A memorial visitation will be from 4 - 5 pm on Wednesday, September 2, 2026 at Mount Moriah, Newcomer and Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, MO 64131 with a time of sharing at 5 pm. All are welcome to come celebrate Sally’s amazing life. Sally's ashes were placed privately by the family at Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
