I am so sorry to hear of his passing. I was just last night asking my Mother about him. He was my God Father and I lost contact with him many many years ago. I decided to goggle him to fined out about more about him and learned of his passing. My thought and prays go out to his family.

Sal Capra was on the Kansas City City Council with my dad. He was a very kind man and always so polite! He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Sal, Rest In Peace!

To the Capra Family:  My thoughts are with you.  Sal was a kind and thoughtful person to all.   I know you will miss him..so will I.

I was saddened to hear about Sal. He truly was a legend. I will miss the times I could meet him for breakfast, and the times he and I would meet at Rudy's for lunch, and the years of playing poker together. He was a friend to everybody he met, and he will be missed greatly.

RIP: My dear friend. We had great times in the poker room and now you are with my dad. I'll miss not bringing red beans and rice for you plus the chocolate cake. It was a pleasure to know you.

To the Family of Sal Capra:

I am very sorry to hear of Sal's passing.  I met Sal in the poker room @ Harrah's and had many a good time playing poker with him there and @ Ameristar.  Whenever he was at the poker room, I would always move to his table.  He loved the game, and was a very good player.  We became good friends and had many wide ranging dinner conversations.  He will be greatly missed.

We are so sad to have lost such a colorful, generous and patriarchal figure in the family and in the community.   Even though we are not actual relatives, he will always be Uncle Sal to us all.  Family celebrations will never be the same.  We will miss him immensely.  Our deepest sympathies to the whole family and his many, many friends.

Sal was the man ,he always was there for me many times his motto to me was ;just do what is right' .... One time he had me wait for him in his office and get his calls, half hour later the Gov.of Missouri called him for advice... WOW ..That was 25 years ago... I am going to really miss him...............

I am grateful for the life of Mr. Capra.  Thanks to his service and to the service of others in our armed forces, my family and I have been able to lead our lives in freedom and peace.

Sal Capra was a great man! He treated everyone he met with dignity and respect. Regardless of age race or religion Sal was a champion of all. He was a true friend to me and our entire family. Sal was very well versed on a variety of subjects, However most importantly he was a very proud Kansas Citian.  He was very proud of the many important roles he played in the history of the City. The Chiefs, Bartle Center and KCI were just a few of the projects that he had a hand in. I was proud to be a participant in one of Sal's many breakfasts that he visited on a regular basis. All  who knew him will miss him greatly.

I lived next door to Sal and his sisters on Harrison Street for many years.  My friend, Ernest Horner, have
found memories of those times and taking his mom roses from our garden.
He will be missed.

He was a true friend for over 40 years and when I got cancer he was always concerned and cared even though I was over two hundred miles away.  He always will be special in our hearts and will always hold him as a special person. Thank you Mr Capra.
