

On Friday, October 30, 2015 Salvatore (Sam) Nicotra of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away at Wilshire at Lakewood Care Center. Born on November 19, 1914, Sam was just shy of celebrating his 101st birthday. On Tuesday, November 17, 2015, a Visitation will be held at 1:00 p.m. followed by a graveside ceremony at 2:00 p.m. at Newcomer's Floral Hills Funeral Home, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd., Kansas City, MO 64133. Sam retired from The Ford Motor Co. in 1974 after 31 years of service. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carmello and Rosa (Signorello) Nicotra, his brother, Jim Nicotra and sister, Mary Nicotra. Sam is survived by his wife of 71 years, Jewell (Hall) Nicotra, his brother, Anthony Catalano, his son, Larry and wife Susan Nicotra, and his daughter, Sharon and husband Joseph Tamborella. Sam is also survived by granddaughter, Gina and husband David Harris; Granddaughter, Christie and husband Brian Walton; and grandson, Philip and wife Karin Nicotra. Sam was also the proud great-grandfather to nine great-grandchildren. Sam was a loving husband and father. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends. He also enjoyed a good Royals, Chiefs, and Missouri Tigers sporting event. His wonderful songs and his sense of humor will be greatly missed.
