Sandra Kay Hummel

Sandy was born in Chillicothe, Missouri on August 23, 1954, to Leo G Cunningham and Patricia A Cunningham (Skulley). She spent 36 years working at Country Club Bank and retired March 31, 2023. She loved working in the banking industry. Sandy loved traveling, especially cruises, going to the casino, getting her nails and pedicures especially painted with her bright pink polish. She loved to plant flowers in the spring and spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed cheering on her KC Chiefs and KC Royals. She also loved her pups very much, Gabby, Harper, Riley and her cat, Kiki.

A longtime resident of Raytown, she was preceded in death by her mother and father. She is survived by her daughter, Melissa Hummel (Wayne) of Olathe, Kansas; her brother Lonnie Cunningham of Raytown; a cousin Leanna Skulley of Blue Springs; her best friend of over 50 years, Janet Williams (David and Eric) of Lee’s Summit and Melissa Rumpf (James) of Pilot Point, Texas who was like a second daughter to her.

Sandy’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew her, but her spirit will continue to inspire and guide us. She will be remembered for her kindness, beautiful smile, her laughter and being the best mom and sister. She was a very loving person but will be sorely missed but never forgotten.

Friends and family are invited to Floral Hills Funeral Home April 11, 2026 at 1pm for visitation and 2pm for funeral services.
