Scott Lambers was born to Stewart and Jessie Lambers in Rochester, New York on September 16th, 1955 and passed away on May 31st, 2022 in his home in Overland Park, Kansas. Scott was a proud KU Jayhawk graduating with a B.S in Psychology and a Masters in Public Administration. He also earned a Masters in Psychology from Texas A&M. He served his community with dignity and honor as the City Manager for Leawood, Kansas for over 20 years up until the day of his passing. He was well known as one of the longest standing City Manager’s and leaders of Leawood and cared deeply for his community as well as for his family. Scott was a beloved husband of 34 years to his wife Mary Ann, a loving and supportive father for his daughters, Jennifer and Clarissa, world’s best Grandpa, or “Papa,” to his granddaughter Lasyn, and an excellent role-model for his son-in-law Jared.
Scott was preceded in death by his parents Stewart and Jessie Lambers, his brother Michael Lambers, his brother-in-law Dr. Tom Isphording, and his career mentor and long-time friend Don Pipes; former city manager of Overland Park. Scott is survived by his wife Mary Ann Lambers, his daughters Jennifer Lambers and Clarissa (Jared) Gantt, his granddaughter Lasyn Long, his two sisters Murrie Isphording of Huron, Ohio and Sheryl (Clif) Schleicher of Columbia, South Carolina, and sister-in-law Julie Miles of Springfield, Missouri.
Visitation will be held in Scott’s honor at McGilley State Line Chapel on Sunday, June 5th from 6 to 8 P.M. Funeral service will be held at United Methodist Church of the Resurrection on Monday June 6th at 10 A.M. with burial ceremony to follow thereafter at Johnson County Funeral Chapel and Memorial Gardens.
