Sharon Elizabeth McIntosh, a young 72, of Raytown, Missouri, lost to cancer on June 24, 2015, after a four-year-long battle. Her passing came a short three months after the loss of her big brother Kenneth, who was nine years older. Sharon was born in 1943 in Mobile, Alabama, to Robert and Mary Irene Williamson. Her life’s path led to studies in criminal justice and the Italian language and to service in the United States Air Force—both in the U. S. and Italy. Her work in the private sector included creating and building her own business—a résumé service. But, her most cherished role was that of mother and grandmother. Sharon was mother to three children—Brian Mehnert, Brenda Bolanos-Ivory, and Melissa England—and she was grandmother to Lauren and Lindsey Mehnert, Brandon and Veronica Bolanos, and Justin England. Notable was Sharon’s empathy for others’ health problems, and she usually knew which herbal remedy to suggest. If not, she would research and find an answer. And, she never tired of sharing her experiences of using bee-sting therapy for pain relief. She was beloved wife and best friend to Michael McIntosh, originally of Hamilton, Mo., for almost 22 years. In her memory, a celebration of life will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the home of Brian and Jennifer Mehnert.
