

Sharon “Shari” Kay (Daugherty) Rice, 63, went home to be with the Lord and her heavenly family on May 19, 2012. A celebration of Shari’s life will be on Friday, May 25, at 9:30 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 8510 Wornall Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64114. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be on Thursday, May 24, at Mt. Shari was born July 4, 1948, in Maryville, Missouri to Buford and Clarita Daugherty. She graduated from Maryville High School in 1966. Shari and Joseph Rice married on July 22, 1977, and made their home in Kansas City, Missouri. Shari retired from Assurant Insurance Company in Kansas City, Missouri, where she had worked for over 30 years. She was a member of Christ the King Parish in Kansas City, Missouri. Shari was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. She is survived by her husband of 34 years Joseph Rice, two beautiful daughters Jennifer (Matt) Kane and Stephanie Rice, her two-month old grandson Ty Brennan Kane, her sister Linda Blakemore, Linda’s three children Diane, Steve and Neil, brother Sam (Vicki) Daugherty and their daughter Emily all of Kansas City. She is also survived by many other loved ones and lifelong friends. Shari Rice lived an active, full life, loved unconditionally and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
