Shirley Lucille Anderson, 87, Lenexa, Kansas, passed away September 15, 2014 at Brookdale Senior Living. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, September 18, at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Road. Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, September 19, at First Lutheran Church, 6400 State Line, Mission Hills, Kansas 66208. Private graveside service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Lutheran Church or Kansas City Hospice, 9221 Ward Parkway, Suite 100, Kansas City, Missouri 64114.
Shirley was born November 20, 1926 in Kansas City, Missouri, daughter of Carl and Nellie (Sorensen) Larson. She had worked in the education field as an assistant manager. She was a longtime member of the First Lutheran Church of Mission Hills. Shirley volunteered for many organizations. She was a member of the Quilters Guild of Greater Kansas City.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert C. Anderson in 2005. Shirley is survived by two daughters Elizabeth and husband Mike Richards and Joyce and husband Jim Crall; three grandchildren Ingrid and husband Jeremy Riley, Alysse Richards and Brent and wife Shannon Richards; and two great-grandchildren Baylee and Logan Richards.
