Shirley Mae Ellington, aged 87, passed away peacefully on October 28, 2024, in Oak Grove, Missouri. Born on December 27, 1936, Shirley was known for her loving and caring nature, touching the lives of all who knew her.
Shirley is survived by a loving family, including her daughters, Rebecca Steele and Tammy Sinclair; son, Danny Ellington; grandsons, Luke Branson, David Wallace, Brandon Steele, Bradley Ellington, Zachary Ellington, Tyler Ellington, Corbin Ellington, and Luke Lamberty; and granddaughters, Sonya Branson, Michelle Branson, Emma Lamberty, and Leah Lamberty. She was preceded in death by her parents, Helen and Francis Tawney; husband, Dewey Ellington; sons, Terry Branson, Chris Ellington, and Michael Ellington; and daughter, Robin Combs.
A visitation for Shirley will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Cemetery, 7000 Blue Ridge Blvd, Kansas City, MO. This will be followed by a funeral service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM and a graveside service from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Floral Hills East Memorial Gardens, 25203 E US Hwy 50, Lee's Summit, MO.
Shirley's kindness and warmth will be dearly missed by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
