She attended Appletree Academy, Our Lady of the Presentation, Archbishop O’Hara High School and graduated from Raymore-Peculiar High School. A life-long resident of Lee’s Summit, Stephanie enjoyed traveling and visiting new places. Her travels included England, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, France, Disney World, Silver Dollar City, Chicago, St. Louis and many places in-between.
Growing up she loved Pokemon, Avatar, Twilight Series, Harry Potter, Barbies, Beanie Babies, Groovy Girls, and her enormous collection of American Girl dolls, which includes almost every doll ever released. As a child she loved to dress up like the dolls in dresses that Nani made for her and go to American Girl doll events.
Through High School she loved to meet new people and made friends everywhere she went. She loved basketball, volleyball, pole vaulting and cheerleading. She was an extremely bright and intelligent woman who was wise beyond her years. No one could miss her driving down the street in her 1997 30th Anniversary Camaro Z28, white with orange stripes, which she fondly named Cami.
Her favorite meal was always chicken fingers, fries and mashed potatoes, but as she grew up she began to expand her tastes for a variety of foods, especially Calamari from The Capital Grille and Red Velvet Cheesecake from the Cheesecake Factory. Never a night went by at the dinner table that she did not raise her hand in the number three and C, meaning she wanted Triple C Threat, her term for chocolate chip cookies. Very few were ever baked as the dough disappeared quickly. A second favorite of Stephanie’s was High Tea and scones. She loved to go to Tea Rooms to try a new tea and scone, and became quite proficient at making her own scones.
She enjoyed meeting her cousin Erin, her closest girl friend, at McAlister’s and Starbucks for tea and coffee to share stories and catch up on events. She loved her spa days with her cousin Pat, as well as the Tea Rooms, and they traveled quite a bit together. Her best friend was Tommy Laches, who cared for her deeply and took her anywhere she wanted to go and spoiled her rotten, most recently by taking her to Blink 182 with front row seats and back stage passes where she met the band and they had her hand guitar picks out to the crowd. She loved her kitty cats, Jet, Jezebel and Buddy. Her favorite was Jet, who followed her everywhere and snuggled on her pillow at night with her. She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals.
The love of her life was her three and half month old son Xander Rowan DeBitetto, who she adored more than anything. She loved to buy him new outfits for every occasion, or no reason at all, and have his picture taken celebrating everything.
She was predeceased by her grandfathers Richard (Grandpa Shobe) Shobe and George (Poppy) DeBitetto and one of her cats, Tiger. She is survived by her parents, Dean and Cindy DeBitetto, her brother Ryan and his fiancée Sydney Latham, Grandparents Karen (Nani) DeBitetto, Dave (Papa) and Joan (Memaw) Nelson and Donna (Grandma Shobe) Shobe, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.
