Stephene was born on November 29th, 1951 to William and Caroline Cargill in Jackson County, Missouri. She was a graduate of Shawnee Mission South High School.
She was known for her witty sense of humor and colorful language. There wasn't an antique mall or thrift store around that she hadn't been to, nor a recipe book she could pass up.
Music was always on. Attending concerts and dancing in the living room with her kids is a fond memory. Stephene was an avid Kansas City sports fan. She especially enjoyed cheering on her grandchildren in their many sports and activities, as well as the penny slots on a Friday night.
We could always reach out to her for good advice. As the oldest of 6 children, she grew up as “the boss" and knew just what to do in most situations.
These traits, along with her fun personality will be dearly missed by many lifelong friends and family.
Stephene was preceded in death by her father, William G. Cargill and two brothers, Brian and Kevin Cargill. She is survived by her husband, Kermit L. Olive of Kansas City, Missouri, mother, Caroline S. Cargill, brothers, Schaen (Maria) Cargill, David Cargill; sister, Lisa (Tim) Moulthrop, three children; Heather (Cory) Bates, Keri (Sheikh) Sanyang, Neil (Chavon) Swartz, along with two step-daughters, Melissa (Tony) Ross and Julie Olive. She was blessed with 9 grandchildren.
There will be a drive thru visitation for family and friends at 2:00 pm on Saturday, May 30th, 2020 at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman Funeral Home, 'South Portico', 10507 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
