Steve was a proud member of Local 101 Operating Engineers working in construction for most of his life. In his later years, Steve found his strength and peace through his sobriety. His journey was inspiring as he met 28 years of recovery.
Steve is survived by his wife of thirty eight years, Janie Bumgarner; daughters Michelle (Mike) Chitwood and Missy Lyons; Three granddaughters Mallory (Tyler) Setzer, Morgan Lyons and Grace Chitwood; great granddaughter Blaire Setzer; mother in law Helen Sousley; brother Mike (Sherie) Bumgarner and sister Nancy (Gerald) Noack. Steve is preceded in death by his father Earl M. Bumgarner; mother, Bonnie Jean Bumgarner and father in law Norman Sousley.
Above all, Steve was known for his unwavering love for his family, especially his grandkids. The title of “Papa” brought him great joy in life and he was always immensely proud of them.
