Steven Michael Collins
February 22, 1962 – September 6, 2019
Steven Michael Collins, age 57, passed away Friday morning September 6, 2019. He was Born in Maryville, MO on February 22, 1962 to Karl Eugene and Gloria Ann Collins.
Steve loved the outdoors which led to his passion for motorcycles. If he wasn't riding or working on his motorcycles, he was spending time with his family and friends. Steve was the type of person to help others no matter the cost. He made new friends everywhere he went. Even after his accident, he continued to be an unofficial advocate for the elderly and less fortunate around him.
Steve had many landscaping and tree trimming jobs over the years to support his family including owning his own company, Felkins Tree Service, and later serving as the lead groundsman for Penn Valley Community College.
Steve was preceded in death by his father Karl Collins of Versailles, MO; his mother Gloria Stonebraker of KCMO; stepfather Bill Stonebraker of KCMO and brother Jerry Collins of KCMO.
Steve is survived by his daughter Brandi (Josh) Newport and grandson Trevor Michael of Rayville, MO. Ex-wife Theresa Collins of Rayville, MO. Brothers William (Cheryl) Collins of KCMO and Jeff (Denise) Collins of KCMO. Sisters Jean Ann (Chris) Mendez of Parkville, MO and Emily (Keenan) Riggs of Jefferson City, MO. Stepmother Dawn Collins of Jefferson City, MO along with many nieces and nephews.
To honor Steve, we will be having a Celebration of Life reception. So, join us for food and fellowship from 2pm-6pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019 at Fun House Pizza (13002 US-40, Independence MO 64055).

The time has come for you to be laid to rest.
You know what they say,
God only takes the best.
Everything happens for a reason,
Even if we may not agree.
Just promise to look after us,
And if you can, save a spot up there for me.
The thought of never seeing you again brings tears to my eyes,
But we should never question what God has planned,
Sometimes it's not meant for us to understand.
Even though you are gone
your memory still remains in my heart.
Your smile and face will never fade.
I’ll think of you as I go on each day.
The good times I remember
and the days spent together
will be in my memory forever.
So when I start to get down
and I really want to cry
I’ll just think of the fun times
and try not to wonder why.
I’ll just leave it at that cause
I know you are better now.
And you are in a better place.
So Steve I love you and I’ll miss you
but I know you're much happier.
So watch over us and make sure we're okay
and I will see you again someday.
