

Steven W. Cook, 62, of Overland Park, passed away Thursday, July 10, 2014. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. followed by 11 a.m. funeral services Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at Mt. Moriah & Freeman Funeral Home, 10507 Holmes Rd., Kansas City, MO, 64131. Steve was born March 5, 1952 in Kansas City, MO, to Walter E. and Martha (Orr) Cook. A 1970 graduate of Shawnee Mission West, Steve went on to serve in the US Army from 1972-1975. He was a recruiter for the Army National Guard from 1977 to 1979. While attending KU in 1975, Steve met the love of his life, Rhonda Jean Herdman, whom he married in 1977 in Atchison and together enjoyed 36 years of marriage. Steve enjoyed a career in auto sales that lasted for more than 35 years.
Steve was a family man known for his great sense of humor. He loved traveling with his family, playing golf and outdoor grilling. He was also known for being an avid Jayhawk and Chiefs fan.
Steven is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife Rhonda Cook; son Chad Cook; daughter Carrie Schoeberl (Jon); granddaughter Kinley Schoeberl; sister Virginia “Ginger” Cook; brother Dave Cook (Kim); nephews Cole and Bret Cook; and many friends.
